Welcome to Ute Pass Integrative Veterinary Care

Ute Pass Integrative Veterinary Care, Inc. (Ute Pass I.V.C.) is a fully mobile integrative small animal practice that provides veterinary care at your home. This consent form allows us to treat your pet.

Please read through the following carefully and alert us to any questions or concerns.

Dr. Morgen Deramus of Ute Pass I.V.C. is a veterinarian trained in both Western, or traditional, and integrative medicine. These methods can complement each other in the successful treatment of many health conditions but are very different in their approaches.

While Western medicine uses pharmaceuticals and surgery as primary methods of treatment, integrative medicine primarily relies on more physical medicine modalities such as acupuncture, laser, massage, and exercise, along with supplements, herbs, and vitamins.

Dr. Deramus relies heavily on Western medicine for diagnosis but finds that integrative treatment often leads to the best outcomes. For pet owners who prefer a more traditional Western approach to treatment for their pet, Ute Pass Integrative V.C. may not be the best fit. However, if you are looking for something truly integrative, then we can often form a beneficial partnership to help your pet and we welcome you as a client and your pet as our patient.

It is important you understand that the integrative approach may take longer than traditional medicine to resolve your pet’s health condition(s) and there is no guarantee it will work for every patient or any specific patient.

Ute Pass I.V.C. is not a full-service veterinary care provider and is not a substitute for your primary veterinarian’s care and recommendations. Although we have experienced many excellent outcomes with this approach, it should only be pursued following discussion with and approval of your primary care veterinarian.

Ute Pass I.V.C. does not perform several common procedures, including but not limited to: routine annual checkups, vaccinations, dental care, surgery, imaging (radiographs, CT scan, ultrasound, MRI, etc.), hospitalization, surgery, and other anesthetic procedures. For services that we cannot or do not provide in the home we recommend a relationship with a primary care veterinarian.

Ute Pass Integrative Veterinary Services also does not see emergencies or after hours cases and recommends the following clinics for emergency and after hour needs:

  • North Springs Veterinary Referral Center: (719) 920-4430
  • Animal ER Care: (719) 260-7141

Ute Pass Integrative Veterinary Care, Inc. is a separate entity from any other veterinary hospital, clinic, or facility where Dr. Morgen Deramus may also work as a traditional general practice and/or relief veterinarian.

By initialing here, I acknowledge and understand the above information. Any questions I have had have been answered prior to signing this document.
